Nozipho Nkelemba

Twenty two year old actress Nozipho Nkelemba's career has grown in leaps and bounds since her television debut as the girl in the bus in a series of Allan Gray Insurance adverts. Acting was always her childhood dream inspired by her grade one teacher.

Her parents also supported her all the way and sent her to the National School of the Arts where she trained in performance and directing. During her tuition there she excelled in drama.

The multilingual Nkelemba's career has blossomed as she has gained invaluable experience starring next to some of South Africa's veterans like Harriet Manamela, Jamie Bartlett, Moshidi Motshegwa, Presley Chweneyagae and Jerry Mofokeng.

However it is her roles as Charlotte in Rhythm City and Nana on the third season of the SABC2 parliamentary drama series 90 Plein Street that have established her as an actress to be reckoned with. She has also featured in numerous proudly Mzansi shows like When We Were Black and The Bet (Heartlines). In her latest work, Nkelemba appears in episode 14 of Intersexions.

Multi-talented, Nkelemba has directed and written a few of her own plays at the Market Theatre. She also holds a Brand Communications degree from the AAA School of Advertising. Her other interests lie in fashion, interior design and music.
