Siphiwe Hlabangane and Tsholo Monedi

Siphiwe Hlabangane's acting career soared when he played Kolo Modise on SABC2 soapie Muvhango. However acting as a career came by as a stroke of luck after one of his teachers at school encouraged him to audition to get into the National School of the Arts where he studied drama between 1998 and 2002. He was among the top eight performers in the drama department in his final year.


In that time he performed in five productions: Fame (1999), Blues for Mister Charlie (2000), Beside Herself (2001), The Boy who Ate the Moon (2002) and Desire, also in 2002.

Hlabangane who also trained in television production has produced and written his own short film titled Death of a Dream, which was broadcast on Soweto TV.

Death of a Dream prompted Siphiwe to continue with television production at Curious Pictures. He was part of the team that wrote the Heartlines drama series Hopeville. Siphiwe was involved in all facets of this production from its conceptualisation to the marketing of it.

Other television shows he has acted in include Yizo Yizo 2 (2001), Mthunzini.com (2005) and Egoli (2008). In his latest television work he plays a major role as gospel artist Thapelo in episode 13.

Tsholo Monedi

Best known for her role as Meme on Muvhango, Tsholofelo Monedi is a popular local actress with vast experience in both theatre and television work. Originally from the Mabopane Township in Tshwane, Monedi holds a National Diploma in Musical Theatre from Tshwane University of Technology.

The versatile actress who is also a singer and performer played Simba's mum Nala in the award winning production Lion King. Other theatre productions include Born in the RSA 2, Melodies of Love, Jesus Christ Superstar, Soweto Story, Aladdin and Robinson Crusoe. On television she has appeared on comedy Skweezas and Mnet soapie,The Wild. Her latest work is a major role on Intersexions episode 13 where she plays Tshidi.


Apart from performing, Monedi finds time to give back and is involved in various CSI projects. She is also a motivational speaker and brand ambassador.
